Sound Installation
Night Sky is a site-specific installation terminating the exhibition experience of the Hammer Museum’s Several Eternities in a Day, dialogue with the vault gallery’s sonic qualities of reverberation and echo. The vaulted room contains sand spread across most of the gallery floor, inviting visitors to unwind and engage with a space inhabited by six channels of various “colors” of noise (including white, pink, brown, green, blue, and violet noise) layered on top of each other. The installation beckons attendees to practice attentive listening, offering the room as a living space that resonates with the materials employed by artists throughout the larger exhibition.
