Controlled Burn (2025), 10-channel audio, commissioned for An Indigenous Present at ICA Boston.
Field recordings of Chacon fanning the flames of a bonfire with an American flag and one of his American Ledger army blankets become the soundtrack to the harbor view from the top floor of ICA Boston.
In this view beyond the conspicuous U.S. flag lie two markers of the American Revolutionary War: the white steeple of Old North Church, a stop on Paul Revere’s midnight ride, and the Bunker Hill Monument.
